First Contact

‘First contact’ scheme

Lambeth Resolve have recently launched a new ‘First Contact’ scheme for the borough.

Agencies such as the Council, the police, the fire service, GPs and other health workers and voluntary organisations will be partners in the scheme. When a member of their staff visits an older or disabled person at home they will complete a checklist to find out if the person needs any services to help them. Examples include:

  • Fire safety checks
  • Advice on benefits
  • Help to prevent falls
  • Advice on home security

This information will be fed back to Lambeth Resolve which will then refer people to partner agencies which can provide these services.
